The Job

Job description
General and business English to employees, in school and on company premises. CELTA and at least 2 years' CELTA experience. Other work experience prior to TEFL very desirable. Freelance contract, airfare London - Hamburg, paid by school and we help in finding accommodation.
Timetable information
Anticipated number of teaching hours
26 x 45 minutes on average. Lessons are usually double: 90 minutes with no break.
Other (e.g. standby, training) No standby but asked to cover when / if necessary. One Saturday morning (4 lessons)per month may be necessary.

Weekly timetables vary due to requirements of company employees. You must expect split-shifts and therefore there are always lessons early mornings, e.g from 7.30 or 8.00 (Monday to Friday) and from the period 4.30 to 7.00 evenings. Formal dress code is a must, e.g. tie for men, no jeans. Good time management is essential, i.e. lessons must start in class room punctually-not merely arriving at reception area of the company !

All teachers are freelance and thus not ligible for free healthcare. German medical insurance companies provide private coverage or teachers can take out private UK coverage. We are pleased to advise on German and UK providers.
Holiday Pay
What are the dates of the school's holidays during the academic year? Do teachers receive any days paid holiday in addition to these set holiday periods?
There is no holiday pay; teachers take time off at their discretion. Teachers submit their holiday notice to school.
Travel
How much will the school pay towards flight expenses?
Return air fare London - Hamburg.
Does the school contribute towards local travel costs? Travel expenses and time incurred travelling to our clients' premises are paid where applicable.
Accommodation
Does the school provide free accommodation? If so, what is included in this package (e.g. bills) and what must teachers pay extra? If accommodation is not provided, does the school help in finding accommodation? Is there a settling in allowance?
We help in finding accommodation ; usually own room in shared flat. Rent approximately EUR 300,-- to 350,-- per month.

Teachers arrange lessons with our German teachers on a private basis. Our classrooms are available for these lessons when not in use.
