How can International House help your business?

We offer Language Training in 140 schools in 47 countries - check our Schools Directory for the IH nearest to you.

We also offer Study Abroad - language training in the country where the language is spoken. The following language courses are available at IH:

English, Chinese, Czech, Estonian, French, German, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian

Your trainees can study in different ways. We offer language courses in different modes:

  • Extensive Courses several hours a week, in company or in school
  • Intensive Courses 3-6 hours per day in country
  • One-to-One training tailor-made courses with intensive tuition
  • Home tuition learning in the teacher's home, in country
  • Online learning via a variety of courses

What we can offer

All of our IH schools are individual, and not all offer exactly the same services. Here is a sample of the Corporate Services that IH schools can offer you in addition to Language Training - check locally for availability.

1 - Language Audit
Our consultants will review the language use across the company and audit the overall language skills of staff at all levels. This will be mapped against the company's expectations and goals - what language tasks does the company want specific staff or specific groups of staff to be able to perform?

The Language Audit produces a Company profile indicating what departmental areas and job types require in terms of language skill.

2 - Needs Analysis
Our experienced trainers will conduct an IH Needs Analysis or Needs Assessment of your selected staff so that we can analyse:

• their language level mapped against the EU Common Framework of Reference (Council of Europe)
• their language skills in a range of linguistic competence areas
• their language deficits - what areas of language they need to improve
• their job-related language needs: what areas of language skill they need to improve in order to impact positively on job performance

The Needs Assessment produces a Language Profile for each individual indicating current levels of skill and required training inputs to reach company performance goals.

Corporate services

3 - Cross-cultural training
In conjunction with our specialist department in London, the Institute for Cultural Training, we can offer cultural awareness and cross-cultural sensitivity workshops to give local and international staff the cultural skills and communication tools that will facilitate team-building and better performance.


4 - Translation & Interpreting
We have many years of offering translation and interpreting services, to and from most pairs of languages.


5 - Localisation services
We can help re-purpose documentation for expatriate and international staff, translate websites and internal intranets for new staff from other countries, run Induction programmes etc.


6 - Relocation services
We can assist your international staff in re-locating to the area of the IH school, by helping with short-term accommodation, contact with the real estate market, relationships with landlords and city authorities etc.
