Description
The International Certificate in Financial English (Cambridge ICFE) is for people who need to show they possess first-rate English language skills and the ability to converse with accounting and finance professionals.
ICFE is developed by Cambridge ESOL and ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and runs in May and November.
ICFE consists of four papers which test the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, which together last just under 3.5 hours. They are based on tasks and topics that finance professionals would expect to encounter in their daily lives.
ICFE is designed for candidates who are at the B2/C1 levels of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, equivalent to IHWO levels 6 and 7.
This means that if you pass ICFE you have the tools in English necessary to work in an international finance context or to follow a course of accountancy or finance study at university level.
Around 1.75 million people in over 135 countries take Cambridge ESOL exams each year. For more information about the ICFE exam go to the Cambridge ESOL website at http://www.cambridgeesol.org/exams/professional-english/icfe.html.
