Description
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – and is intended for people who intend to study at an English-speaking university.
TOEFL is developed by ETS, an American testing service. The test is available on demand. Consult your local test centre for more details.
The TOEFL exams divide into two tests. The paper-based test (PBT) tests the skills of Reading, Writing and Listening (115mins). While the Test of Spoken English (TSE) tests Speaking.
TOEFL is designed for candidates who are at the B1 to C2 levels of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, equivalent to IHWO levels 4 to 8.
Over 6, 000 institutions in more than 110 countries recognize TOEFL scores. For more information about TOEFL go to the ETS website at http://www.ets.org/toefl/.
