International House Journal

The International House Journal was launched in April 1996 and has appeared twice a year since. In an early editorial, founder editor, Matthew Barnard, suggested that we could usefully 'look more to our own classroom experience for rationale and direction rather than the latest published papers from academia.' In a very short space of time, the Journal achieved Matthew's aim of sparking debate whilst at the same time providing practical ideas for the classroom.

For those who missed out on certain issues and for others who want to revisit interesting pages, we have now made a selection of articles available on this site. We hope you enjoy them!
