School and town profile: IH Santander is a small school which is owned by IH Valladolid. In 2007 we moved to a new, larger building in the centre of the city. Santander is a coastal city (pop. 180,000) in the north of Spain and is the capital of the province of Cantabria, which lies between the regions of the Basque Country to the East and Asturias to the West. Santander itself is a popular summer resort and beach life plays an important role, but the surrounding area is also popular with hikers and is home to some of the most important palaeolithic sites in Europe! |

Notes on Contract: |
|
Useful Info: Unfortunately, the Spanish system is full of red tape and in order to rent a flat and open a bank account, you will have to spend a few hours in various queues in government buildings. Time off and assistance is given to teachers during induction week to help with this. |
