School and town profile: IH Al Jouf is a newly established language school offering General English courses to the public at all levels. Al Jawf is in a pleasant, quiet and relaxing area of northern Saudi Arabia and offers an interesting cultural and professional experience. Located in an existing private diploma college, the school, although small at present, has massive potential and aims to establish itself as a leading quality EFL service provider. This is a new school and teachers will be expected to assist in its development. The school is expected to generate a lot of local interest as there is little direct competition in Al Jawf and the town needs a reliable service provider. The center will serve both the general public and business and industry. It will also offer courses to Young Learners. IH Al Jouf will also offer Academic English Support programs to the diploma college in which it is based. In modern times Al Jouf has developed into a pleasant, quiet and well ordered moderately sized typical Saudi city located between Sakakah and Tabuk. Al Jouf is not especially large and the city is easy to get to know, although the town covers a wide area, including many outlying suburbs and satellite villages. Near to the regional capital, Sakakah, Al Jouf is very much in the Saudi heartland. Some areas of the town have date groves that are very attractive. Al Jouf is a conservative town and very safe and will appeal to those who prefer to live and work in an unpolluted, stress free environment. People are hospitable and friendly and there is a great desire to learn English here. Al Jouf has a small but vibrant city center with a commercial area selling everything you need. Al Jouf is well connected to the national capital Riyadh, 4 hours by road, and other cities within the Kingdom. The Jordanian border is relatively close by. The climate in summer is hot, up to 45 degrees C but humidity is of course much lower than on the coasts so it does not feel especially uncomfortable. Winter temperatures are much lower, 17 degrees C on average and November to April are very pleasant. |
