The City

Santa Monica, a residential and coastal city, is situated in the Southeast of California and is part of Los Angeles. It is famous for its art galleries and artist studios as well as for being an important producer of electronic components and aerospace equipment. The city got its name from a Spaniard in the XVIII century and has a population of 90.000 inhabitants.

The School

International House Santa Monica is three blocks away from the beach, just beside the Third Street Promenade, the leisure and commercial centre per excellence. The school has 8 well-equipped classrooms, study room, library and a common room.

CLASSES

There are intensive courses of 15, 20 or 25 classes of 50 minutes per week (8:30-11:30 for the first course, 8:30-12:30 for the second and 8:30- 14:30 for the third). Minimum age is 16 years of age and all levels are taught, including beginners. Minimum booking is 2 weeks of study. Maximum number of students per class is 12 except in summer when is 16.

Accommodation

Normally, the school arranges Host family accommodation for the students, based on a single room with breakfast or half board. Homestay students are picked up from the airport free of charge. There are also single rooms available in residential accommodation or in apartments with food included or not, but because of great demand it is advisable to check availability and price at the time of your booking. There is a price supplement during the months of July and August.
