IH San Sebastian
SCHOOL
Lacunza - IH San Sebastian was founded in 1956, grew initially through the teaching of English, affiliated to IH in 1977, and then opened a Spanish department in 1989.
The Spanish school has several awards of quality, like CEELE, CSN, Bildungsurlaub, and we are a Centro Acreditado by Instituto Cervantes. Our students come from 40 countries. 60% extend their course, come back to us or send their friends. In the centre of San Sebastian, our new premises, which were opened in July 2000, have been designed to make it easier to communicate and learn Spanish in a pleasant atmosphere. The school was expanded in March 2004 and now has:
• A nice open air terrace with snacks, coffee and drinks machines, twice as big as before.
• A wide reception area with sofas and notice boards.
• A wide social area and a library with graded reading and consultation books, magazines, newspapers.
• 16 ample classrooms with non polluting air conditioning.
• 2 of the classrooms merge to make a projection room.
• Notice boards for the activities, student mail received, displays for brochures and magazines.
• HIFI sound system in all classrooms and common areas. During breaks, music is operated from the reception. Another aspect of culture.
• Videos in school, overhead projectors, teaching aids.
• PCs for the students with free access to internet and a public pay phone.
All is brand new and has been built specifically for a language school.
