We train the language teachersIH was founded by language teachers in 1953, and it has built its reputation not only on excellent teaching but on a commitment to and passion for innovative and professional teacher training and teacher development. Teacher TrainingIH helped to create the modern standards for teacher training in language education, by launching the IH Certificate in the Teaching of English to Adults (IHC) in October 1962. This later become the RSA Certificate, which then became the CELTA. IH continues to innovate in preparing and developing teachers of all languages. Teacher DevelopmentHighly-trained and professional teachers wish to remain on the cutting edge of their profession, with relevant, challenging and motivating teacher development programmes. These can be delivered in school, online or external workshops and courses. IH is committed to providing high-quality teacher development for its staff.

Teacher Resources we help to teach a languageTo keep students motivated and to increase the effectiveness of their learning a language, teachers need access to a wide range of academic resources - a coursebook alone is not enough.
