The International House Certificate in teaching One to One Online Course
The main aim of this course is to prepare teachers for working in a 1-2-1 teaching context. The IH 1-2-1 online aims to give participants a solid grasp of the main issues and techniques involved in teaching 1-2-1 whatever their context.
The IH 1-2-1 course is divided into 10 modules, each containing three separate sessions which are a mixture of input, reflection on experience and discussion. The modules focus on the following areas:
The course assessment is based on an end of course portfolio. This will include some of the homework tasks, a course plan for a 1-2-1 course.
IH121: February – May 2008 (plus further time to complete the work)
The course is run online and requires regular / daily access to the Internet with a good connection.
The course is run by qualified online tutors who will guide trainees through the online sessions and assess the portfolio.
The course is a 50-hour course consisting of 30 hours of input over 10 modules and 20 hours of homework and this is spread over a 10 to 12 week period.
