IH DOS Certificate training course
21 January 2008
This year the annual DOS Certificate training course took place in IH London with the largest training cohort ever.
A total of 19 Directors of Studies from around the IH network gathered to develop their educational management skills, share experience and build knowledge with colleagues from 16 countries.
The course, which was run by IH World's former TT Coordinator, Mike Cattlin, was demanding and stimulating and considered very successful by the participants, who will keep in touch via an online post-course module designed to support an ongoing exchange of experience and support.
IH runs this educational management course every year to build the skills of current and future Directors of Studies, to ensure that the IH network has a strong group of managers ready to support schools worldwide. The course grows more and more popular each year which is an excellent indication of both the usefulness and necessity for such a course in the Language Teaching world.
DOS Conference 2008 heralded as the best yet
11 January 2008
"Thanks very much for an enjoyable & stimulating conference" was one of the many positive comments we received at the end of the 2008 DOS Conference. Participants from schools around the network came together to share ideas and innovations from within the network and 'the overall atmosphere of the event was both convivial and informative'. So thanks to all of the participants who helped to make this event.
This year we were also particularly lucky to have a long list of illustrious speakers from the EFL and academic world. Many thanks to Scott Thornbury, Jeremy Harmer, Deborah Cameron, Simon Greenall, Michael Berman and Russell Stannard for providing interesting and thought-provoking sessions.
